The row of simulators at SimRacingDream in Kraków, every seat taken by a league driver under pink and blue lighting

Fourteen drivers.
Two groups.
Seven sessions.

A festival stand is one long day. A league night is the opposite: a stack of short sessions, back to back, where the field keeps moving between rigs and every rig has to go into the same session at the same moment.

Kraków Sim Racing League — Round 0

What the round was. The opening test round of the Kraków Sim Racing League (Krakowska Liga Simracingowa), run at SimRacingDream on 27 August 2026 before the season proper, which runs from September 2026 to January 2027 alongside the venue's Multi Hotlap Challenge. Fourteen drivers turned up and were split into two groups of seven. Assetto Corsa, Mercedes DTM, Hockenheimring.

A league night is not one long session. The league format stacks short ones: a 15-minute pre-qualifying to seed the groups, then a heat of qualifying plus two ten-minute races — the second on a reversed top ten — and then the field swaps simulators and does the whole thing again. Every driver is drawn onto a different rig, so every rig has to be identical and every rig has to go into the same session at the same moment.

What RaceControl did. Every rig was launched into the shared session from one screen, each time, for every session of the night. Drivers signed themselves in at the rig on the kiosk screen, so nobody had to walk the row typing names between heats. The organiser ran the league; the software did the standing up and sitting down.

HOW A LEAGUE NIGHT IS BUILT

Seven sessions,
and the rigs change hands
halfway through.

The league's own rulebook decides the shape of the evening. Read it as a list of things the software has to survive, and it looks like this.

01 — PRE-QUALIFYING

One 15-minute session seeds the groups

Everyone runs together, then the field is cut fastest to slowest into group one and group two.

02 — HEAT

Draw a rig, qualify, race twice

A simulator is drawn for each driver. Qualifying is one out lap and three timed, eight minutes maximum. Then a ten-minute race, then a second ten-minute race with the top ten reversed.

03 — SWAP, THEN AGAIN

Two up, two down, new rigs

Points from both races decide promotion and relegation between the groups, the simulators are redrawn, and the whole heat runs a second time.

Points are scored per race and per round; each driver's worst round is dropped from the season total. Track limits are policed by the in-game app — five warnings, then a five-second penalty — and the pit limiter is watched at 80 km/h.

WHAT A LEAGUE NIGHT NEEDS FROM THE SOFTWARE

Four problems a single session never has

One customer in one seat for one hour is easy. A league is the same room doing it seven times in an evening, with the drivers moving between the machines.

Drivers sign themselves in

The kiosk on each rig takes the driver's name at the rig itself. Nobody walks the row with a laptop typing fourteen names in before every session.

customers

Every rig into one session, at once

The whole row is launched into the same server from a single screen, so a heat starts when the organiser says so rather than when the last machine finishes loading.

launch

Interchangeable rigs

Drivers are drawn onto a different simulator each heat, so car, track and settings have to be pushed to every machine from one place — not set up rig by rig.

fleet

Turn the room around, repeatedly

Pre-qualifying, two qualifyings and four races in one evening. Every one of them is the same sequence of standing the room up and sitting it back down again.
